PLEASANT HILL STORE POWER OUTAGE

With the ongoing PG&E power outages happening, our Pleasant Hill location is now also without power.  Please bear with us as we adjust to this latest development.  We hope everyone is safe and thank you for your understanding.  As of now, our San Ramon location is still up and running at full capacity, as are our North Berkeley, Solano Ave location, and our Grand Avenue location in Oakland.  You can call ahead to place take out orders in advance.  Due to our College Avenue and Pleasant Hill locations being closed, our other locations may be experiencing higher call volumes than normal.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  Please check back for more updates as we receive them. ZACHARY’S GRAND AVE NOW OPEN!

It’s official! Our newest location on Grand Ave in Oakland is open and ready to serve you the award winning, stuffed pizza you’ve come to know and love! We had a soft opening this past Monday, October 21st, 2019 at 5pm.  We are so excited and happy to be joining the wonderful and historic Grand Lake neighborhood and can’t wait to meet new friends and see old ones!

At Zachary’s on Grand we offer a full bar with a custom-made cocktail menu.  We encourage you to take advantage of this lovely area, with floor to ceiling windows, as you wait for your to-go orders in person or for your dine-in table. Please note in these first few months of business, we anticipate dine-in wait times and pizza cooking times to be slightly longer than normal.  In addition, it may be difficult to get through on our phones to place to-go orders.  We thank you for your patience in advance as we adjust to our latest location.

We’ll be open for dinner nightly at 4pm until 10pm Sunday through Thursday, and 4pm to 10:30pm Friday and Saturday.  Lunch service will begin in a few weeks! Thank you Bay Area for all of your support and positive energy in making our latest dream a reality!

ZACHARY’S CELEBRATES EARTH WEEK WITH PLANT PARTIES

Our second-annual plant parties were a success!

On Sunday, April 14th, Zachary’s hosted free Plant Parties for the communities outside of our Solano and Pleasant Hill locations. We began the tradition last year at the Solano parklet, and had so much fun we decided to include Pleasant Hill this spring.

Long time employee owner and plant enthusiast Suzanne Hill enjoyed the sunshine outside of our Solano Avenue location giving away an array of beautiful potted succulents and other plants to members of the community strolling by (who also sipped on cucumber water and noshed on some pizza snacks).

The employee owners of Pleasant Hill went in a DIY direction for their Pant Party, opting to let participants dig in the dirt and put together plants in adorable mini Zachary’s themed pots.

Thank you to all of the employee owners and community members who helped us celebrate the warmer days ahead and Mother Earth!

Keep an eye out for our next round of Plant Parties, coming this Fall!

ZACHARY’S X OAKLANDISH!

We are super excited about this one! We’ve teamed up with our friends over at Oaklandish for a special edition t-shirt! And (because why stop there), 10% of sales will be donated to the Fred Finch Youth Center. Fred Finch is an amazing organization doing really inspirational work in Oakland and throughout California!

Based in Oakland, California, Fred Finch Youth Center works with young people facing multiple challenges, including homelessness, economic disadvantage, mental health and cognitive disabilities, and histories of significant trauma and loss. Committed to the notion that no one is without hope, no matter how desperate their circumstances may appear, Fred Finch offers programs in education, independent living services, housing and mental heath to provide a pathway to healing and self-sufficiency. Their 128 year history and strong track record have made Fred Finch Youth Center a recognized leader in the treatment of children and families.

These limited edition collaboration shirts are available at any Zachary’s location, as well as the flagship Oaklandish store on Broadway in downtown Oakland, and online at Oaklandish.com.

ADD SOME SPRING TO YOUR STEP AT OUR PLANT PARTIES

Warm yourself up with pizza and plants

After a bone-chilling winter (at least by Bay Area standards), come celebrate the return of the sunshine and renewal of spring with us on Sunday, April 14th.

Last year we had a great time playing in the dirt at the parklet in front of our Solano Avenue location in North Berkeley, so this year we are also setting up shop on the patio at our Pleasant Hill location.

We will be outside from 12-2pm (weather permitting), with plant supplies and plants you can take home to enjoy. This event is for everyone, from the gardening expert to the plant novice. This is also a great opportunity for kids to play and pick out their own plants to care for.

If you’ve killed plants in the past, no need to worry—our resident green thumbed employee owners will help you with questions about care and propagation.

Pots, dirt and plants will be provided, but feel free to bring any plants, clippings, pots or gardening supplies you’d like to use or share.

So come join us, grab one of our potted plants or dig in the dirt and DIY your own perfect plant composition to add to (or start!) your collection.

How Does the Art Contest Work?

  • Contest begins January 28, 2019 and ends May 1, 2019
  • Contest is open to all ages, from the young to the young at heart
  • The subject of the artwork should be Zachary’s Chicago Pizza and the artwork should include either our logo and/or name. You may use the medium of your choice, but we recommend VIBRANT, SATURATED choices like paint, dark pastels or digital art.  Colored pencils and crayons tend to get washed out against other pieces in our restaurant.  Please remember, some of the art will be hanging up high so utilize the space you are given.  Fill it up and make it bold!

  • All winning artwork and any reproductions of the artwork become property of Zachary’s Chicago Pizza and will not be returned.

OVER $6,000 RAISED FOR CAMP FIRE RELIEF EFFORTS

On Thursday 12/13/18 all Zachary’s Chicago Pizza locations donated 15% of our dine-in and take-out sales to the North Valley Community Foundation in Chico California.

Together we were able to raise and donate over $6,000 to the relief efforts!

A big thank you to our employee owners for spreading the word and the collective effort involved to make this day a success.

Most importantly a HUGE thank you to those in our communities that came in and supported the effort!
